'This year\'s Nobel Peace Prize has been awarded to the United Nations\' World Food Programme, for its contribution to bettering conditions for peace in conflict-affected areas and for acting as a driving force in efforts to prevent global hunger and poverty. The winner was announced at the Norwegian Nobel Institute in Oslo. The WFP initiative was established in 1961, and today provides food to over 90-million people a year.
